Growth Pattern of Children of Two Social Groups: A One-Year Longitudinal Study

The present article is on a short-term longitudinal growth study, conducted for a period of one year, on squatter children of two social groups (Hindu and Muslim), belonging to age groups 3, 4 and 5 years. Here attempts have been made to observe the similarities and differences in growth pattern of children of each age group belonging to two social groups and to see the effect of social group and sex difference on growth pattern. The results show that except some measurements, there exists no clear growth pattern in both the groups. Again, social group and sex difference do not seem have any effect on the growth pattern.
